Conference coverage, onsite editing and content beyond the event.
The project
IRFA’s 2026 Annual Conference brought the retirement funds industry together under the theme “A New World – A New Normal.” Across three days, speakers and delegates explored the responsibilities facing the sector, from governance and changing member expectations to technology, sustainability and long-term investment outcomes.
Unbreakable Media’s role was to capture those conversations, deliver a day-one recap while the conference was still underway, and create content that could remain useful after delegates had gone home.

The brief
IRFA needed a highlight video of the first day, edited onsite and ready to screen the following morning, along with an overall conference highlight.
The day-one edit needed to include the evening’s gala dinner and awards, leaving a tight window between filming the final moments and completing delivery. Alongside the highlights, the project included full conference recording and a post-event content audit to identify material for future use.
Covering the conference
A five-person crew worked across the event, recording the main programme and a breakout session running simultaneously, with clean audio captured for both.
This gave IRFA a record of the discussions and a source of material to draw on for additional content. Presentations, panel discussions, delegate perspectives and audience moments all contributed to the wider story.
Interview coordination was an important part of the production. We completed interviews with 11 selected delegates, arranging each conversation around their speaking commitments, panel appearances and breaks.
Using the client’s supplied questions as a starting point, we adapted the questions to each person’s role and area of expertise. This helped draw out specific perspectives on the issues being discussed. We also interviewed six additional attendees, adding further reflections from people attending the conference.
Delivering the day-one highlight
Our onsite editor worked alongside the filming crew throughout the first day, with editing running from approximately 08:00 to 22:00.
The completed highlight included the day’s conference activity, interview soundbites, gala dinner and awards footage. It was delivered that evening, ready for playback the following morning.
The soundbites gave the recap context: viewers could hear what mattered to delegates while seeing the sessions, interactions and evening programme that shaped the day.
A visual identity built for IRFA
We also created a custom motion graphics event opener using the conference’s existing designs. The opener carried IRFA’s event identity into motion, providing an introduction that belonged to the conference’s look and feel.
Custom lower thirds were designed specifically for the same visual identity. These graphics carried the conference styling through the video content, giving the interviews and speaker identification a consistent presentation.
Building the full conference story
For the overall highlight, we focused on explaining what the conference had explored and what participants took away from it.
We selected soundbites from presentations, panel discussions, delegate interviews and attendee reflections, then built the edit around those contributions. The aim was for someone who had not attended to understand the central conversations and their significance.
The footage provided the atmosphere and human detail; the voices from the event gave the film its substance.
Finding value after the event
After the conference, we reviewed the footage and transcribed the recorded discussions as part of the content audit.
This allowed us to identify useful, reusable and quotable moments, including recurring themes and contributions that could support further communication.
The audit gave IRFA a foundation for future social content, reporting, stakeholder communication and sponsor updates. It also identified opportunities to share the discussions with people who had missed the event and keep those conversations going.
“I think it is really brilliant and in line with what we discussed.”

What we delivered
- A day-one highlight, edited onsite and delivered that evening for screening the next morning.
- A full conference highlight built around the event’s discussions and participant perspectives.
- Full conference recordings, including the simultaneous breakout session, with clean audio.
- Interviews with 11 selected delegates and six additional attendees.
- A custom motion graphics event opener based on the conference designs.
- Custom lower thirds aligned with IRFA’s conference look and feel.
- A post-event content audit, including transcription and identification of reusable material.
The project combined immediate delivery with a longer view of the conference’s content. IRFA received a recap while the event was still underway, a film that communicated the wider conference story, and a reviewed body of material to support the next stage of the conversation.
A conference ends. Its most valuable conversations do not have to.
