Blue Asset Golf Pro-Am — Corporate Golf Day Video Production

The Blue Asset Golf Pro-Am 2024 brought together 92 players for a corporate golf event involving professional golfers, amateur players, sponsors and clients.

Unbreakable Media filmed the golf day, player interviews, sponsor activations and the official prize-giving. The project initially centred on a main event highlight, before expanding into five separate videos created for different parts of Blue Asset's post-event communication.

The brief

The field consisted of 23 four-ball teams, including 21 professional women golfers from the Women's Professional Golf Association, two male professionals and a mix of amateur golfers, clients and sponsors.

The Pro-Am format gave amateur players the opportunity to play alongside professional golfers, while nine sponsors had branded activations positioned around the course.

Blue Asset needed the video coverage to capture more than the golf itself. The important elements included:

  • Registration, arrivals and the pre-event presentation
  • The draw and shotgun start
  • Golf action across the course
  • Drone coverage of the venue and event
  • Interviews with the professional golfers
  • Sponsor banners, activations and merchandise
  • Speeches, dinner, awards and prize-giving
  • The purpose behind the Blue Asset Golf Pro-Am programme

Covering the full golf day

Our filming began during the early setup and registration before following the players onto the course.

The coverage combined golf action, natural interactions between the players, sponsor activity, interviews and aerial footage. This gave us enough variety to tell the story of the full event while also creating shorter videos with more specific messages.

Yolanda Lantè Duma won the tournament with a score of 68, securing first place in the Pro-Am division.

Supporting a more sustainable tournament model

BlueAsset's CEO used the event to explain the wider purpose behind the Golf Pro-Am.

The company's aim was to develop a more sustainable tournament model that could provide greater support for the players, particularly within women's golf. BlueAsset's shared-value investment approach was presented as a way of helping the tournament become less dependent on major sponsors over time while continuing to grow.

The message also reflected a broader ambition to support South African sporting talent and create more opportunities for local players.

Supporting Women's Golf in South Africa — Blue Asset Golf Pro-Am

Women golfers share their experience

The focused women's golf video combined comments from professional golfers and other players taking part in the Pro-Am.

They spoke about the enjoyment of playing together, the opportunity for amateur golfers to learn from the professionals and the importance of supporting younger women golfers as they progress.

The video also included a message of appreciation to BlueAsset, with the hope that its support for women's golf would continue and grow.

Women Golfers Share Their Pro-Am Experience

Dedicated content for the event sponsors

Nine sponsors supported the Golf Pro-Am through branded displays, on-course activations, merchandise and prizes.

Rather than allowing this coverage to disappear inside the main event highlight, BlueAsset commissioned a separate sponsor video as a dedicated thank-you to its event partners.

The video combined sponsor visibility around the course with golf action and prize-giving footage, before closing with an acknowledgement of all nine sponsors.

Golf Event Sponsor Showcase

Prize-giving and evening coverage

After the golf, we recorded the speeches, tournament results, formal prizes, lucky draws and lighter awards such as nearest to the pin.

This footage was edited into a dedicated prize dinner video, allowing Blue Asset to share the closing part of the event separately.

Golf Day Prize-Giving Video

One event, five finished videos

The main highlight provided a concise overview of the Golf Pro-Am. Once the client saw the result, the project expanded to include four additional videos, each with its own focus:

  • Main Golf Pro-Am highlight
  • Pro-Am programme overview
  • Professional women golfers
  • Sponsor showcase
  • Prize dinner and awards

This allowed Blue Asset to continue sharing content after the event without repeatedly posting the same general highlight.

"Ek love die video, dis baie nice. Ek love die mense wat tussenin praat."

Corporate golf day video production

The Blue Asset Golf Pro-Am shows how a corporate golf day can provide more than one event recap. By planning for interviews, sponsor coverage, drone footage and focused storytelling during the shoot, the footage could be developed into several useful pieces of content for different audiences.

Here is a look behind the scenes at the filming and drone coverage on the day:
